Being a mom is a rewarding and fulfilling journey, but let’s be honest—it can also be exhausting!
A mom is always on duty, whether it’s morning, afternoon, or the middle of the night.
Over time, feeling drained and somewhat disconnected from ourselves is normal.
If you’re looking for ways to carve out a little more “me time,” you’re not alone!
I’ve been there, and I’d love to share some tips that have helped me reclaim those precious moments for self-care.
1. Start Your Day With Intention

It can be easy to get swept up in the morning’s chaos—making breakfast, packing lunches, and rushing everyone out the door.
But I’ve found that taking just a few minutes for myself first thing in the morning can make a difference.
It’s not about waking up at 5 a.m. (I’m no early bird, trust me), but about making that slight shift in how you approach the start of your day.
One easy way to do this is to use a journal to set your intentions for the day.
This beautiful oatmeal-colored Journal, aptly named “One Line A Day,” has been my go-to for jotting down quick notes and affirmations.
It helps me feel grounded before the whirlwind begins.
2. Delegate (Yes, Really)
I get it; as moms, we often feel like we have to do it all. But the question is, do we have to?
Why not take some time to explore your support system and see who can step up to help?
Think about your partner, your kids, and the friends or family in your circle. Don’t forget about those handy services or apps either! Engaging with the people and resources around you can make a big difference.
The less you do, the more time you have for yourself.
A shared family calendar is a helpful tool in this process (I swear by this Family Organizer Planner).
It’s a game-changer when it comes to organizing the family’s schedule and ensuring everyone knows what needs to be done—and it gives you permission to step back and ask for help!
3. Prioritize Small Moments of Self-Care
Finding large chunks of time for yourself is often unrealistic when you’re a mom. But that doesn’t mean self-care needs to be a luxury you can’t afford.
I’ve learned to embrace small moments of calm, whether enjoying coffee in silence or taking a five-minute break to stretch.
A quick reset is using a Face Mask while doing the dishes or folding laundry.
Trust me, just taking those few minutes for yourself feels like a mini-vacation. And the best part? You can easily squeeze it in throughout the week!
4. Make Your ‘Me Time’ Sacred

Whether it’s a 30-minute walk, a bubble bath, or reading a book uninterrupted, creating boundaries around your “me time” is vital.
I know it’s tempting to skip your solo time to get more things done, but every mom needs moments to disconnect and truly focus on themselves.
A cozy, calming space makes all the difference when trying to carve out this time.
A Weighted Blanket has been an essential part of my relaxation ritual. It helps me feel grounded and calm after a busy day.
Plus, it’s perfect for those moments when I want to curl up and read my favorite novel or watch a few episodes of a show I love.
5. Embrace the Power of Saying No

As moms, we often feel guilty about saying no. We’re so used to being the ones who take on every responsibility, whether it’s volunteering for school activities or attending every social event.
But saying no is an essential way to protect your time and energy.
When I started saying no to things that weren’t aligned with my priorities, I found more time for what truly mattered—connecting with my partner or catching up on my favorite hobby.
You don’t need a fancy tool for this one, but I love having a motivational quote wall in my kitchen for reminders. These Framed Prints inspire me to put myself first without feeling bad about it.
6. Indulge in Comfortable, Practical Loungewear
Sometimes, the best way to enjoy your “me time” is simply to be comfortable.
After all, we work hard, and there’s no harm in enjoying a little luxury while relaxing. Investing in some quality loungewear can make a huge difference.
I’ve found that slipping into this comfy and cute Lounge Set makes me feel like I’m treating myself, even if I’m just curled up on the couch with a book.
7. Get Moving

Exercise is one of the most effective ways to de-stress and boost energy levels.
It doesn’t have to be an intense workout—just moving your body is enough.
Even a ten-minute walk or stretching session can make you feel more rejuvenated.
A fun addition to my routine has been using a Yoga Mat that’s both cushy and stylish.
It makes my morning stretch or evening floor workout feel like a luxury.
8. Let Go of Perfection
Last but certainly not least, learn to let go of the need for everything to be perfect.
Your house doesn’t have to be spotless, and your to-do list doesn’t have to be checked off entirely for you to deserve time for yourself.
Giving yourself permission to enjoy the present moment—without constantly worrying about what’s next—has been one of the most freeing things I’ve done.
I’ve found that a little clutter is okay, especially if I’ve taken the time to prioritize self-care. After all, it’s all about balance!
Give Yourself A Break
Taking time for yourself is not selfish—it’s necessary. It allows you to be a better mom, partner, and friend.
With some planning, a few helpful tools, and a mindset shift, you can start carving out those precious moments of self-care you deserve.
